Friends and I enjoyed a casual supper at the local Farmers Market at the beginning of the month. Vendors sell all manner of good things to eat. My favorite is the samoosas and fresh squeezed apple, carrot & ginger juice.
The cooler weather makes hiking the Table Mountain mountain chain even nicer. The Silvermine portion is less than ten minutes from home and has some lovely walks. There is a reservoir which makes for nice cooling after hike swims in the summer months.

On Wednesday 11th the Wednesday Hiking Group got a permit to hike the Orange Kloof part of the Table Mountain chain. This is a particularly pretty area so we went although it was very wet and misty. It made for some interesting photos.
Beautiful rain drop be-jeweled protea.
The normally dry and uninteresting lichen expands and blooms in the wet.
As the month draws to a close I am concentrating on the packing for my departure to UK on 31st and keeping my fingers crossed that the ash cloud will not disrupt my plans!
