I delayed my return to Cape Town till the 4th October so that I could go back to Bisham Abbey Sailing School and take the exam for my VHF radio licence. I also managed to meet up with Ireen at Reading railway station for a coffee and a chat and to have an evening out with Sarah and Mel. We had dinner at Hamiltons in Chertsey which is the venue that I have chosen for my birthday party next year. The food was yummy.
Back home it was back into the regular routine of cycling and hiking with the added adventure of attending the French Centre in Fish Hoek twice a week to brush up my schoolgirl French. Monday morning is two hours of grammer and Wednesday evening is two hours of conversation over a baguett, cheese and a bottle of wine! Pretty darn good way to learn a language if you ask me!
Due to the heavy rains in the Cape over the winter the flowers are even better than usual this year. Walking up in Silvermine is like walking in a garden.
Monday 3rd. Patricia, George, Kathy and I set off for Pringle Bay where we met up with the rest of the party that was ultimately bound for a mid-week break at Kleinmont. Here we climbed Hang Klip while waiting for our challets to become available. At “The Grail” we moved into our cottages. Patricia, Hannie, Loraine and I were in one together. In the evening we all went to Bea’s larger cottage to have dinner together.
