January 2015

8th Jan. Lovely walk along the River where herons and egrets lined the opposite bank in anticipation of fish. (see banner photo. On the way back there was a large grain carrier at the silos where it had obviously been taking on cargo.

14th Jan. There was a work party on ASTER again today because the wind had blown the cover off. Hopefully it wasn’t too badly damaged. They didn’t think they would be able to put it back on given the strength of the wind today but hoped to stabilise and repair the frame.

Back home there were interesting vapor trails where a playful jet had saluted St Jean de Losne. Another brilliant day, mild, blue skies and sunny. It realldoes feel like spring.

16th Jan Got a new collection of cuckoo clocks into one of the windows today. This is but a tiny sample of the collection that amounts to well in excess of 200!

17th Jan.  Another lovely day for a walk with definite signs of spring in the air and catkins in bloom. I chose to walk along the river to the Old Lock again.

20th Jan. Went into Dijon this morning with Patricia to have a second opinion on my knee from a Dr Hallonet who was quite clear that I do not need knee replacement surgery at this time. In celebration I went again with Patricia to a yoga class this afternoon, quite difficult but really beneficial. Peter arrive at St Jean de Losne station at 6.30.

23rd Jan. Peter put an offer in on an apartment in the block adjacent to mine, which was accepted at a ridiculously low price. The best news is that he is selling me his garage for one Euro! So here we are about to be neighbors again!
