One of the things that I have been meaning to post to the blog for ages is the wonders of the Cape Floral kingdom. It doesn’t matter when you venture into the mountains there is always something to floraly delight. From the miniature “painted Lady” to the dinner plate sized “King Protea”.
It is a floral kingdom where some well known garden flowers like the gladioli originated.
In the old days of film cameras you would be really dissapointed if you only took one 36 exposure film with you as the numerous varieties would out-pace your capacity to capture them.
At the start of spring there are carpets up the east coast rolled out over the hills,
with a whole new range of blooms predominantly daiseys.
But without a doubt the proteas are the most intreguing
Until you come across one that defies identification. You would think it would be difficult for something so colouful to be so obsure!
