5th August. Sunday Morning Jazz in the Square.
21st. The sun is getting up later in the morning thus allowing Cassidy and I to enjoy the low sunlight on the sea.
One of the advantages of the location of my apartment, 300m from the beach, is that I could watch the end-of-season firework display from my balcony!
29th I took my mountain bike into the forest of Suzac this morning. This is the first outing I have had on it, off road, for ages. The gears were a bit sluggish so I took it into the bike shop and will do a more in depth explore tomorrow. The mechie in the bike shop did not know anything about the presence of “single track” in the forest and instead gave me some maps of regular cycle routes.
30th. On my dog walk this morning I asked one of my dog walking friends what she thought about the presence of “single track” in Suzac and she said that there was a MTB club so she thought there would be. On this morning’s ride I did find and try a couple but they were badly maintained with lots of untrimmed eye level whippy branches and HUGE logs across the path. Whether this is to stop people from using them or because the club has become inactive I am not sure. I did find what had obviously been a bit of an MTB play-park, like the one in the dug out section on the way up the hill in Tokai, but although there were a couple of ramps and a log to jump, there was a lot of deep sand and it did not look well used. Have to see what Google says on the subject?
