December – 2018

11th. Busy start to the month preparing largely home made Christmas gifts and writing cards.

12th. A glorious sunny day for a long afternoon beach walk.

And, being a Wednesday, afternoon school is devoted to sport both on land and water.

25th. Christmas Day Lunch was spent with my good friend Michelle and her dog who is a good friend of Cassidy’s, so everyone was happy! We shared the costs and the cooking and had a veritable feast. We started with Oysters which are a local specialty and for this reason less extravagant than they sound! Followed up with Duck au Orange, a cheese platter and Summer Pudding. Michelle had dressed the table nicely and I bought along a centre piece that included the pretty fret wood trees that Jon and Nicki had sent me.

Four hours later Cassidy and I went home and from there to the beach for a late afternoon walk where we were treated to a wonderful sunset.

Leaving the beach I saw from the Billboards that the cinema program had changed and swung by to collect the new program, the sun was spectacularly reflected in the windows.

20. Sun set reflected in the windows of the cultural centre

We ended our walk by going home via the village where the lights were on in the Church Square and the sweet shop, carols were playing on the loud speaker system and to everyone’s amusement Cassidy added his own voice to “Silent Night” (anything but silent but certainly festive!).

29th. R$ed Sails in the Sunset.
