March – 2019

21st Just past the official “First day of Spring” there is no doubt in my garden that it has arrived. The two plum trees are in full bloom, the Forsythia is blooming and yellow primulas, bluebells and some very “African” looking daisys are nodding their heads in agreement.

29th. While walking on the beach this morning with Cassidy I had a fall and broke both my wrists. Cassidy was off lead and running and playing rather boisterously while I was chatting to the owner of the other dag. Without warning he ran fully tilt into the back of my knees and I wend over backwards, putting my hands out behind me to break the fall only to break both wrists instead.

The other dog owner called her husband and he took me to the local Polyclinic where I was X-rayed and admitted immediately. Because it was the first walk of the day and I had not eaten they were able to operate later that day and put two pins into each wrist. My good friend Michelle took Cassidy home to stay with her and her dog.

it is the first time I have ever broken a bone and was less painful than I had expected it to be.
