14th. The Building site is supposed to open tomorrow so I took a drive out to take a photo with road in front and the view that I will have from my back terrace of the field behind.
18th, well the building site did not open on the 15th as expected but I got an e-mail from Phénix yesterday to say it will open on the 21st! Watch this space!
22nd. Well the work on the site did not start yesterday! However in their defence the weather has been very wet. I did get a call from the subcontractor who will be clearing the site of debris after the digging out of the foundations to say that his work will commence on the 28th!
Bu way of distraction and to celebrate the fact that the sun has come out I went for a 20klm cycle along the coast with the new owner of my apartment, Joelle. Just by way of reminder that the rain isn’t necessarily over, a big black cloud dominated the western sky.
26th. Cycled out to the plot with Joelle to see what progress had been made during the week as I had been informed that the builders had formally opened the site. Well they had erected the building permit sign and that was about it!
28th. The rain has stopped over the last couple of days and we have had beautiful warm and sunny weather. This afternoon people were making the best of it on the beach with swimmers, stand-up paddlers and sailors.
