February – 2020

4th.  Over the last two days the second layer of plaster which is impregnated with colour, has been applied. Well the main colour has been applied. The colour round the front door and the back patio door will be champagne where as this is cream.

6th. Today’s beach offering was more Ship than Chateau but certainly displays imagination and effort.

4. Stately gallion

11th. Good work taking place at the house today. The electricity loom is in place along with the stale air evacuation pipes. By the time I went back in the afternoon the insulation was on the walls and the ceiling was in. Such a pity that they had forgotten to put the light well in above what will be the windowless bathroom! Talking to the man in charge it transpired that the site manager/foreman had forgotten to tell them that the bedroom walls were moving back 30 cms as well. Fortunately we got in on time with this one. Ho! Hum! lets see what tomorrow brings!

12th. Lots of people on site today. Outside the water is being connected from the meter to the house, the land is being leveled and the air vents to the area under the foundations are being installed.

16. terracing of back yard

Inside the interior walls are going up at a rate of knots!

Meanwhile we shouldn’t ignore the fact that this is toad migration season. To facilitate the safety of the toads plastic mini walls are constructed along side the road by their migration path to funnel them across the road at a safe crossing place. The safety is ensured by the temporary imposition of a 30kph speed limit and temporary speed bumps. All rather wonderful in the frenetic world we inhabit.

9.

17th.  Prime real estate, uninterupted sea views, mezanine floor, no lift.

Met Claud, the site foreman, by chance when I went to the site this morning. All the internal walls are now in place, next step is to plaster them. It was useful to have the meeting and get some important questions answered.

As you can probably see the electrical wires and the water pipes are all in place so it is coming along nicely.

16th.  MUST VIEW – Newly renovated with state of the art insulation……

24. newly refurbished

additional out buildings, new furnishings and a sea facing conservatory!

25th. On a more serious note a brief visit to the house showed that the contrasting colour has been applied around the front door and the french windows at the back. Looking good
