!st. Jon and Henry went to the Cordouan lighthouse for the morning. They were impresses. No one that I have sent out there has failed to be. It is a truely deserving holder of the “World Heritage” badge.
In the evening we walked down to the Weschers Port and had seafood at the bistro. For once Henry failed to completely clean his platter!

2nd. We all went into Royan in the morning, me to buy a gift for Nicki and Henry to buy food at the market, he is cooking dinner for us this lunch time. In the evening we went to the village pub. There was an evening street market and we bought some deliscious sweet meats from a charming Tunisian lady.
After dinner we played Rumicub, but after a good 20 games over the last week Henry and I still failed to catch Jon.
3rd. We moved slowly towards the farewell flight. Stopping off first in Rochefort where we had Moulle Frites at the shack by the harbour, rode the transponder bridge gondola across the Charente and back;

stopped off at Decathlon (with which Henry was mightily impressed) where I returned the unused camping gear and proceeded to La Rochelle where we dodged showers at the waterfront and had coffee and sandwidges before finally having to go to the airport in time to book in for the 10.30pm flight.

It has been a lovely visit and if Jon and Henry enjoyed it half as much as I did, then it can be recorded as a success.
As it was late on a long day I just went to Angoulim beach on the other side of La Rochelle for the night.
4th. The beauty of the beach was a small consolation for not having my lovely men with me.
