Jon came to visit in mid month. Only three days – way too short but we did have a lovely time. On one of the days we drove to the Vauban built fortified citadel at Blaye and had a lovely lunch.

The season has been marked by wild swings between High and low preasure; blue skys and sunshine and tempestuous wind and rain. On the sunny day Cassidy and I have benefitted from lovely walks on the beaches of St Georges de Didonne and Meschers-sur-Gironde with the occasional reward of tea and crepes at Le Cafe de Bains which is open all year.

On the stormy days some small DIY furniture making projects. A bedside table to accomodate the new layout in the bedroom and the lack of some where to put your glass from one side of the sofa!

Here we are again, another beach walk at St Georges de Didonne. A balmy 16 degrees. There were actually a few stalwarts swimming!

In early December we had a farewell party at my place for Martine

It was a very festive gathering of the women of the development.
trips into the village of Meschers revealed the Christmas decorations and the visit of Santa to this tine French village!

The decorations in the nearby town of Royal wre a touch more elaborate
