I am now camping in the building site that is gradually being converted into my new home. The Malawi garden sofa that is currently serving as my bed will eventually go into the garden.

The en suite bathroom has had the bath ripped out and the new walk in shower is evolving!

The kitchen work, apart from removing the cupboard doors, has not started.

The guest shower has had new plumbing installed and is reday to go

And this morning I was treated to a glorious sunrise from the guest bedroom

10th. Took the train into Capetown on a humind and misty morning to get the paperwork for the importation of my furniture stamped by customs. This is our little station at Lakeside. The yellow circles are a hangover from Covid and mark the safe distance standing points!

The painting in the bedrooms is nearly finished. I have followed the same colour scheme that I had in France.

17th. A mixed bag today. On the low sidem the guys that took up the old laminate flooring discovered a big wet patch with black mould in the outside corner of the main bedroom.

As it is doubtless an issue with the building the expence will probably be covered by the Body Corporate but it is a BIG hassle non the less.
Moving up several notches the numerous pieces of cut board are transforming into carcasses for the new kitchen units and the new wall unit for the living room.

And a lick of paint has transformed the bbuilt-in-cupboards in the bedroom even before I hang the new doors

The shower is coming along nicely

and at least they were able to lay the new laminate in the two other bedrooms and the landing

However the high point of the day has to be picking up my smart, brand new, Toyota Urban Cruiser.

23rd
Good procress today. The fireplace was installed and the window blinds, In the kitchen the oven and hob went in and the staircase is coming on a treat. Five different trades on site today and a delivery of firewood nicely stacked in the carport. Now I know why project managers are so well paid!

27th Yesterday the lminate flooring was completed and is looking really good. Following on from more major cleaning on Saturday today was bitty jobs day. Draught excluders on the bottoms of all the doors, putting the existing cabling into conduit, preparing somw quarter rounds for sealing the back door. Stopped at 4pm and met Sandi for an evenignwalk along th lake.
