March – 2025

6th. Benefitted from more time to wander around Kalk Bay as Rhian was doing Yoga. The railwy from Town joins the coast just after Lakeside to head down to Simon’s Town, provided of course that the track doesn’t get burried under sand , it is a scenic ride.

As there was a howling SouthEaster blowing it was not too hot but you couldn’t see he mountain top either!

Up behind Main Road there are some pretty “Victorian” era homes with their wrought iron trimmings

And local cafe’s and play parks

Back on Main road the colourful and busy boutiwues and cafes and the quirky Train Station.

8th. Cape Cycle Tour Day. No wind and not too hot, ideal conditions. Watched for a while

This afternoon we drove p to Constantia Uitsic, a vineyard on the mountainside. They have develpoed some of the old labourers cottages into boutique restaraunts one of which is an artisanal ice cream parlor. Well I have to say…………………………………!

11th Met up with Paull and Robs at Punjab and had a lovely evening.

12th Back to Constantia Uitsic for lunch with Di and Rhian and revisited the Rose Garden for a photo shoot!

13th Went out to super and to listen to some live music at Monkey Bay in Nordehoek this evening. Sat inside as it is still blowing a hooley and once the sun goes down it is a bit chill. The wind was blowing the spume off the wave tops.

14th. Walked ino Laksid and bought a Town House! continued on to Sandi’s, made lunch for her, John and guest then walked bck to Rhian’s. We loaded the dogs and drove up to Silvermine for a walk and a swim.
