11th. Cracking on with painting Christmas cards and manufacturing simple hand mad gifts including various pots of Jam, conserves, pestos and chutneys; fabric hearts stuffed with dried lavender to hang in the wardrobe and eventually chocolate coated brandy soaked cherries, candied ginger and (the Engish products shelf in the local SuperU stocking “mince”) traditional mince pies.

21st. Gifts and cards finished and packed, tree up and decorated time to move on to making stuffing and a Christmas cake or two.

24th. Gifts distributed and tea with Anne and Salomé. Salomé had baked a “death by chocolate” cake and they gave me a pretty amathist pendant.
25th.
Tree lit up, table laid, fire and candles lit, turkey in the oven and Monique and Martine will be here shortly.

Sitting down to the starter…..

Carving the turkey….

After a seriously good meal (during which the whapsapp beeped regularly with greetings from around the world) we set off with Dogs Cassidy and Monique’s Duky in a pathetic effort to walk some of it off. On our return we settled down to a few games of Rummicub, I won which rather put the icing on the cake! When everyone left I reflected on the celebration of friendship that the day had represented and how fortunate I am to have so many good friends.
