22nd March. The month has passed pleasantly with the usual round of Tuesday morning mountain bike rides in Tokai Forest and Wednesday morning hikes in the Table Mountain chain. There follow a few photos from one of the hikes.
30th March. Headed off to the Northern Cerdarberg Mountains to stay with friends in the Moravian Mission Hamlet of Brugkraal and do some exploring in the hills. On the first evening we walked in the area of the house and down to Grasvlie, an adjacent hamlet. Very small and very rural.
The Hamlets of Brugkraal and Grasvlie are really small, not mare than half a dozen houses. They rely heavily on Donkey Carts for local transport. There is a good water source and addition to subsistence level agriculture they grow flowers and veggies in their gardens. The whole appearance is well-ordered, rural and last century set in the most magnificent mountains.
